Donnybrook Goldrush – August 2026

Back at it again with my Regulator brothers and sisters, fighting hard, having a laugh, and generally causing as much trouble as possible.

Unfortunately, we were based in a part of the property that isn’t exactly my favourite, so I spent the first half hour doing what any respectable Gelball player would do: setting up ambushes and trying to create as much confusion as humanly possible.

Sorry Patrick… you were my first victim.

The day kicked off with a full-blown base defence, with the Regulators holding on absolutely tooth and nail. We were under the pump from the start, and everyone was putting in the work.

Unfortunately, my main blaster decided it had had enough of this nonsense and suffered a day-ending fault, with the return spring snapping.

So, naturally, I grabbed the blaster I hate. With a newly developed 3d printed hopup in conjuctuion with LWI that day being it’s beta test and the only thing I loved about that blaster.

Because apparently suffering is part of the game.

I spent the first half of the day running around with that thing, and predictably, it decided to join the other blaster in the afterlife not long afterwards. At that point I figured the universe was probably trying to tell me something.

I took a break after that, and around the same time our resident Gelball Jesus, General, also came off for a breather.

Which meant Topgunners stepped up and became the real General now!

Lunch eventually arrived, giving everyone a well-earned hour to recover, eat, talk absolute rubbish and pretend our bodies weren’t already filing complaints.

After lunch, I got back into it and started strategically embedding myself with the fast combat teams. The mission was simple: get back into the fight, doing general things and start making a serious push towards Waytown.

And push we did.

The Regulators fought hard and eventually made it into Waytown. There was even word that one of the young fellas fighting alongside us had almost managed to steal a sign before being taken out.

So close.

The afternoon was full of some absolutely cracking fights and plenty of one-on-one duels, but the final part of the day was where things really went mental.

And then there was the bloke in the Bunnings shirt.

This man earned himself an award for something that, according to Gelball Jesus, was apparently something he had never seen before.

Because while incoming fire was absolutely hammering the area, this mad guy performed a barrel roll through the fire like he had just walked straight out of a 1990s action movie.

The Regulators may not have taken the overall battle this time, but we fought hard, had a hell of a day, broke several pieces of equipment, caused plenty of chaos and generally made our presence known.

We’ll be back in three weeks.

And hopefully I’ll have a blaster that actually survives the day.

Regulators! 🤠🔥
