My birthday at Danger close

🎂 A Birthday at Danger Close Gelball — What a Day! 🔴🔵

Sunday, 16 August, I celebrated my birthday in the best way possible — with 27 mates, a private gelball session, and an entire day built around an immersive story arc.

The rules were relaxed for our group — no FPS limits, full-auto was on the table, and the focus was on having an absolute blast.

GAME 1 — THE LAPTOP 💻

The day kicked off fast. After choosing team captains, Ben took command of Blue while Magnus led Red, with me fighting for Red.

The first mission was to secure and hide a laptop before extracting the information it contained. Every game was connected through the same evolving storyline, which made the whole day feel like one continuous operation.

Blue took Game 1.

GAME 2 — THE BANKER 💰

With the spawns swapped, both teams were tasked with locating and extracting the Banker — Moose.

The Banker was eventually discovered in the cell block, escorted to the bottom admin building, and secured in the same room as the safe. The contents were then placed inside the safe, setting up the next stage of the story.

Then it was time for lunch. 🍕

Moose and the incredible Danger Close staff had organised pizza and cake for everyone. It was completely unexpected and hugely appreciated.

Birthday cheers were shared, well wishes exchanged, bellies were filled, and then it was back into the fight.

GAME 3 — THE EXTRACTION 🔐

Red knew exactly where the safe was and were tasked with retrieving its contents and extracting with them.

With my special powers apparently not extending to operating the safe very effectively 😂, I needed a little assistance from Moose to get the bag loaded.

Once it was in hand, I made my way towards the extraction.

Unfortunately, despite our efforts, Red couldn’t complete the objective within the allotted time.

GAME 4 — OVERTIME 🔵

Blue were given their opportunity to complete the task — but with one major complication.

They also had to extract the Banker.

With some seriously stiff resistance, Blue managed to pull it off and complete the objective.

🏆 BLUE TEAM TOOK THE DAY!

Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for…

THE GAUNTLET 🔥

This was definitely SummerCat’s favourite part.

Everyone took their positions and absolutely pummelled Gunner as he waddled through the gauntlet in a blow-up rooster costume.

And honestly…

It was glorious. 😂🐔

A perfect ending to a perfect event.

Huge thanks to everyone who came along, played hard, embraced the story, and helped make the day something I’ll genuinely never forget.
